A Personal RemembranceWednesday, Feb. 19, 2025. A ballroom at Desert IslandCC in the Coachella Valley pocket of Rancho Mirage. The “Celebration of Life” for my dear friend, my colleague, my collaborator, my playing partner and one of the world’s foremost golf and landscape photographers, John Henebry. Fifty days prior, while riding his bike on New Year’s Day mere miles from these golf grounds, Johnny was hit by a car and tragically killed. He was 76 years old.

The fickle playing partners of Golf and Politics are finding concerning coalescence in one of the nation’s great golf pockets. The Coachella Valley, known to most with the blanketed title of “Palm Springs”—home to 120 courses across a 40-mile spread of SoCal sand and sun and host to annual PGA Tour, PGA Tour Champions and Epson Tour events—is shouldering toward its hot summer offseason with an earnest worry that, come autumn, some its most avid patrons may avoid the tee sheet.

Conceived 15 years ago, and with a master plan dating back more than a decade, CV Link is intended to connect the Coachella Valley’s cities via a 40-plus-mile paved pathway for bicycle, pedestrian, and (low-speed) electric vehicles. Sir, these words are appreciated. But, clearly, a strong response of ACTION isn't merely warranted - it's needed. 367 aerial attack weapons launched in one night? Civilians, innocents and children murdered? Three-plus years of these senseless deaths? The time for US action is NOW.

This is Kyiv. The indiscriminate killing of women and children at night in their homes is a clear violation of the 1977 Geneva Peace Protocols designed to protect innocents. These attacks are shameful. Stop the killing. Ceasefire now. https://t.co/89XRWZcP21
