Building and Construction Minister Hon Chris Penk wants to make remote building inspections the default. In this article we consider the promises (and potential pitfalls) of the proposal. Earlier this week, the Court of Appeal issued its decision in the Bushmere Trust v Gisborne District Council appeal, and confirmed Gisborne District Council’s approach to valuing land subject to licences to grow SunGold Kiwifruit.
