American Stage is inviting audiences back to the 60s for “Hair,” elevating “the era of flower power, protests and free love” at Demens Landing Park through April 28. The show premiered on Broadway in 1968. It highlights rebellious youth and “fun for fun’s sake” as a groovy love letter to counterculture, telling the story of the “tribe,” a group of politically active “hippies” living in New York City who are fighting against conscription into the Vietnam War.
