Ecuador’s dollar bonds tumbled after socialist challenger Luisa González did better than forecast in this weekend’s presidential election, likely forcing President Daniel Noboa into an April 13 runoff. Bonds slumped across the curve in early trading, with notes due 2030 down more than 7 cents on the dollar. They were by far the worst in emerging markets. (Bloomberg) -- Chile is tapping debt markets with a social bond, one of the first sales by emerging-market sovereigns in what’s expected to be a slower second half of the year after a flurry of activity in the first few months of 2024. The South American nation is selling euro-denominated notes due in 2031 at a spread of 105 basis points over mid-swap, according to a person familiar with the matter who asked not to be identified.
