RESULTSIn total, 68 family physicians were interviewed (15 from British Columbia, 12 from Newfoundland and Labrador, 21 from Nova Scotia, and 20 from Ontario). The interviews lasted an average of 58 minutes. The participants had been in practice for an average of 16.9 years (range 1 to 38 years), and consisted of 41 women, 27 men, and 20 rural physicians (Table 1).
