    Once again, the dynamic Native American portraits of famed photographer Edward Curtis will be on display at the Garrett Museum of Art, this time in an inaugural exhibit of his work. The show, Buried Treasure: Edward Curtis—Unpublished Works, opens this Friday. Curtis was known as a champion of his time, advocating for all Native American and Alaska Natives, documenting history through words and pictures.

    An offshoot of the Salvatori family's authentic Italian eateries, Salvatori's Hospitality group has taken iconic Fort Wayne restaurant Paula's on Main market and restaurant under their umbrella. The Salvatori’s family business was founded in 2006, its New Haven, Indiana location quickly becoming a county-wide favorite. By now the family’s number of Italian restaurants has grown to seven, including two more in Fort Wayne, as well as Auburn, Leo Crossing, and Warsaw.

    In honor of National Historic Preservation Month, local historian Karen Richards is presenting the final installment of ARCH, Inc.’s annual lecture series titled, Celebrating 50 Years of ARCH. This event takes place May 17, in the Cinema Center’s Spectator Lounge. ARCH was formed in 1975, Richards notes, out of a push by Fort Wayne’s Bicentennial Commission to save the last remaining structure from the city’s Wabash and Erie Canal era.

    As riverfront development continues in downtown Fort Wayne, two iconic restaurants owned by the Hall family, The Old Gas House and The Deck, stand sentinel at the project’s east end, eagerly awaiting its completion. It all began, according to a third-generation owner, Ben Hall, when his grandfather, Don Hall, opened his first restaurant, a drive-in, in 1946.
