Conclave was, in my opinion, the best movie I have seen in years. I sat down and watched this movie on a random Thursday night by the request of my roommate and was genuinely amazed by the content and message of the movie. Centered around the death of the Pope and the subsequent conclave made up of hundreds of cardinals choosing a new one, the movie delves deep into the issues of religious conspiracy, ideologies, and sexual identity.

Every year, cinephiles across the globe wait anxiously for the announcement of the nominees for arguably the most esteemed award show of the year: the Academy Awards (otherwise known as the Oscars). This year, two films emerged as front-runners to take home the most coveted awards of the evening, those being The Brutalistand Emilia Perez. However, aside from being the two movies receiving the most nominations, they also have something else in common: their use of Artificial Intelligence.

Ever since I was little, fall has stood out as my favorite holiday by far. The changing colors, light breezes, thick sweaters, and of course, Trader Joe’s seasonal snacks and items. While I have personally been advocating for a Trader Joe’s to open up in Blacksburg since my first semester at Virginia Tech, it is always fun to get a peek at all the items TJ’s has to offer while I am home for fall break. The Bachelor and Bachelorette, ABC’s once crown jewel of American entertainment, have taken a rather sharp nosedive in recent years. With declining ratings, controversial casting and diversity problems garnering media attention over the last few years, this has been a persistent issue for producers. However, the finale of Jenn Tran’s season might have been the straw that broke the camel’s back when it came to really calling out the deep-rooted flaws with the show.

If you quickly look through all the different major forums of media, whether that be social media, broadcast news or magazines, it won’t be long before you come across some sort of discussion about a celebrity—more often than not, about their appearance. Sometimes its small digs about their outfits or hairstyle, sometimes it surrounds the quality of their makeup, however, I have noticed an increase in direct insults about body and face appearances of these individuals.
