Plan to go to the Gardiner Art Gallery in OSU’s Bartlett Center by Oct. 25 to see the Yatika Fields Exhibit. Fields, an Osage, Muscogee and Cherokee artist, is a Stillwater High School graduate. My neighbors Gerry Auel and Steve Hallgren have already attended and report Fields’ exhibit is definitely one to see. The OSU Museum of Art in downtown Stillwater features Fields’ wonderful mural.

Mastrogiovanni, a New Jersey resident and Blair Academy graduate, came to OSU in 2020 as a recruit for the OSU Wrestling Team.

In the front-page story "Moms for Liberty leaders rally" (April 4), Tulsa County Chairwoman Janice Danforth gave two false reasons for the need to pass Senate Bill 244 that would move school board elections to the fall cycle. Danforth said, "We support moving the school board elections because there's not enough people showing up for those elections.

How long will Oklahoma legislators allow State Superintendent Ryan Walters to continue his attacks on public education? Walters' attacks on Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Deborah Gist have been destructive to Oklahoma's public education system. Walters apparently does not care whether the TPS and the City of Tulsa are damaged when he can gain publicity through his daily appearances. Metropolitan districts have all the problems of today's world.

A July visit to the Saturday morning Farmers’ Market last summer brought about my topic for today’s column. While I was there, I decided to go into the Prairie Arts Center to see what was taking place there that morning. For background, I will mention I first started writing about the PAC in 2017 when it was the Multi Arts Center. MAC was managed in a partnership agreement with the City of Stillwater.

For the last few columns, I have been planning to write about Ryan Walters. Every week, however, that topic ended at the bottom of the list. Many Happenings in Stillwater –Sheerar Cultural Center Auditorium – Today at 4 p.m. – Michelle Place, Executive Director of the Tulsa Historical Society & Museum, will speak about Greenwood and the Tulsa Race Massacre. Place is a two-time Heartland EMMY winning writer and producer of BOOMTOWN, a retrospective of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Place will focus on how Greenwood/Black Wall Street developed and prospered and then how those citizens overcame the Massacre to rebuild their community.

We are only two days away from the favorite day of the year for those who love to play jokes. •••Events in Stillwater – Connie Cronley will speak at the Stillwater Library at 6:30 p.m. tonight about her book: “A Life on Fire: Oklahoma’s Kate Barnard,” which chronicles the life of Oklahoma’s first female politician and social reformer. According to the Library’s article about the event, Dr. Angie Debo encouraged Cronley to write about Barnard.
