Zoe Fitchet is a sucker for detailed realism. Focusing her attention on creating her life-like pet portraits and wildlife pieces, has not only produced stunning works of art but shone a light on endangered species. The 32-year-old grew up on Westover Farm in Goodworth Clatford and was captivated by the natural world from an early age. ‘I would often wander around the farm and liked being outside, being in nature. We only had sheep, but I would enjoy seeing the surrounding wildlife.

This quaint village in the heart of Poldark country has become a favourite destination Affectionately known as Aggie, St Agnes on Cornwall’s north coast sits in a designated area of natural beauty. Amongst the rugged landscape, there’s spectacular coastal paths, sheltered coves and quaint streets. The pretty village gained its name from the local legend Bolster the giant. According to folklore, Bolster was a bad-tempered, fearsome giant who terrified small children.

Growing up, Holly Hickmore’s aspiration was to be on a horse rather than creating one. As a horse-mad youngster, she rode from the age of five, progressing from her first pony to a beautiful Dutch warm blood, Cupid, riding around the South Downs near to woodlands where she grew up. ‘I went off to Hartpury College to join the Show Jumping Academy because I was going to be a famous show jumper,’ she reminisces.

‘The women in my family have always been creative,’ says Penny Metcalfe. 'My grandma used to create her own knitting patterns and I had a great auntie who loved designing clothes, but for me it's always been art.'
