I have been stewing with my extreme disappointment at the failure of Cincinnati City Council to vote on Aug. 2 to put the proposal for permanent funding for the Affordable Housing Trust Fund on the November ballot. I was one of the many citizens who gathered − standing-room only in Council Chambers and in the balcony − and spoke at that council meeting, representing a diverse coalition to ask City Council to restore the city earnings tax to its 2020 level of 2.1%.

It is anticipated that the Screening of Third Countries
Transactions Bill 2022 (Bill) will be enacted shortly, but at the
time of writing, it is not clear when it will be
commenced.
Once commenced, the Bill will provide for the screening of
transactions completed after the commencement date, as well as
providing a "look-back" review mechanism for transactions
entered into prior to commencement.

The European Union (Cross-Border Conversions, Mergers and
Divisions) Regulations 2023 Mobility Regulations) were signed into
law on 24 May 2023.
The Mobility Regulations transpose Directive (EU) 2019/2121 on
cross-border conversions, mergers and divisions (Mobility
Directive) into Irish law.
The Mobility Regulations introduce new procedures when
contemplating cross border transactions (both into Ireland and out
of Ireland).
