A Smart Object is something you can create in Photoshop to contain multiple images, layers, shapes, or text. It’s a sort of nesting doll feature in Photoshop that allows you to combine multiple layers of different sorts into one “packaged” layer. By merging these into a Smart Object, you can add filters and completely transform them while retaining the ability to edit these compressed layers individually in the future.
