1. IntroductionPancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) is a cornerstone surgical procedure for benign or malignant diseases of the periampullary region [1,2]. Despite its widespread application, PD remains one of the most technically demanding operations because of postoperative complications and mortality. PD is associated with various complications—postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF), post-pancreatectomy hemorrhage (PPH), delayed gastric emptying (DGE), bile, or chyle leak.
