“The same things again. We’re putting in some base coverages. I would say [he is] exactly what we saw on tape: smart, savvy. If you’re watching closely, some people transition and stop very quickly. He has really quick twitch. I’d say he’s sticky in coverage. I think he’s one of those players that already at a young age, understands splits," Payton told reporters on Saturday. "I worry sometimes with the corners that… If you’re defending every route, you’re defending no route.

When Pete Carroll is running things, it's bound to be a bit different than what we have seen before. During rookie minicamp, we kind of got our first glance at what a Carroll-ran training camp could look like. Of course, we have seen what he's done with the Seattle Seahawks back when he was running those training camps. And, whatever he was doing was successful, because they didn't have many losing seasons, just three, and two were his first two seasons.

A few years ago, the Las Vegas Raiders tried to give a guy who was once one of the best at what he did in the league another chance. The players coach role in the NFL is one that is usually pretty successful, but Carroll takes it to a whole other level. Andy Reid, the Kansas City Chiefs head coach, is a players coach, but not because he is doing drills, but more because of the relationships he has established with his players. With Carroll, him being this way will go a long way for him. These players will love him, and the relationship between the two sides will grow strong.

The Chiefs used their first three picks in the draft to addrress the trenches, where they oicked two defensive linemen following the pick of Simmons. And, the two picks were pretty good all things considered.
