Nos. 1, 2 and 3 have all changed and two newcomers enter this week’s USA Lacrosse High School Boys' National Top 25. Always potent Lawrenceville (N.J.) went on the road and rallied in the second half for an impressive win at former No. 1 Salisbury (Conn.). It was the first loss of the season for Salisbury, and jumps Lawrenceville right back in the conversation for the top spot in the country. The Big Red have lost two games this season, both by just a goal apiece.

After all the dust settles, there’s a new No. 1, two new teams in the top five and one newcomer to this week’s USA Lacrosse High School Boys' National Top 25. Delbarton (N.J.) stunned former No. 1 St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) in double overtime, which allowed unbeaten Salisbury (Conn.) to take the top spot.

Severna Park (Md.) and Chatham (N.J.) ride unbeaten starts into this week’s USA Lacrosse High School Girls' National Top 25. They are the only newcomers in the ranking, though there were plenty of shifts in the Top 25 after strong scheduling and competitive conference play made for plenty of intrigue. Severna Park (Md.) picked up a win over IAAM contender Archbishop Spalding (Md.) as well as an overtime win to remain perfect.

Khalif Hocker has been a big-name player for St. Xavier (Ohio). Now the Bombers have a big-time win, too. St. Xavier defeated Culver Academy (Ind.) in overtime to make a huge impact in this week’s USA Lacrosse High School Boys' National Top 25. Mount St. Joseph (Md.) also joined the ranking after its 7-2 start and strong showing in the MIAA conference.

Brown trotted out a new starting lineup against No. 1 Cornell on Saturday. The Bears benched their starters in favor of their scout team. More accurately: the scout team earned the start. It was a volatile and unpredictable week in high school girls' lacrosse. There are four newcomers in this week’s USA Lacrosse High School Girls' National Top 25. Westhampton (N.Y.) and Smithtown West (N.Y.) have emerged from the Northeast Region, Milton (Ga.) is back in from the South Region and St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Va.) debuts out of the Mid-Atlantic Region. Westhampton and Smithtown West have each enjoyed 4-0 starts fueled by key wins over ranked teams.
Bordentown's Maddie Blumenthal 'loving the journey' of wrestling

Maddie Blumenthal has found her sport. The Bordentown Regional High School junior played some soccer as a youth, and she also took up horseback riding and ballet. But in eighth grade, while getting involved in a boot camp that focused on conditioning, she was turned onto a new sport: wrestling. “I joined the club because I was looking for an aggressive sport,” Blumenthal said. “I’ve loved my journey so far.”Soccer has been long gone.
