    With only three weeks to go before the Online News Act is set to go live, the Canadian government and Google reached an agreement in which the latter would continue to display Canadian news on its platforms. Meta, Facebook’s parent company, has said it would end the availability of news content to Canada if the Online News Act passes. Following the suit of other federal governments, Canada has announced a ban on using TikTok on government-issued mobile devices effective tomorrow, February 28.
