NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Tennessee Lawmakers are done making laws for the year, but now they are hearing from voters about what they did and not everyone is happy. State Senator Jack Johnson believes he knows why. "I can tell you that there's so much garbage and misinformation on these things that we carry around and we call them phones but they really aren't, they are little computers," Sen. Johnson told an audience at the Williamson County Inc Policy Talks.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — One Tennessee lawmaker wants to make it so that TennCare doctors can not refuse a patient just because they haven't taken a vaccine. That goes for any vaccine. Representative Michelle Carringer says it should be up to the individual to take a vaccine or not. Others believe that mandating vaccines are for the greater good of public health. Metro Councilwoman Erin Evans took it upon herself to make sure these pods were put to use. The pods were purchased using a state grant.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — For years, FOX 17 News has reported on the devastating impact of fentanyl and the ongoing efforts to combat its spread. Now, Metro Police are sounding the alarm on a new and dangerous drug showing up in Nashville: xylazine. Unlike fentanyl, xylazine is not an opioid. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, it’s a powerful veterinary sedative — not approved for human use and non-narcotic. That means life-saving medications like Narcan are ineffective against it.
