Henk Lategan will run the rest of the 2025 World Rally-Raid Championship, and will move up from Toyota Gazoo Racing South Africa to the flagship team as part of his new campaign. Lategan finished runner-up in the season-opening Dakar Rally to fellow Toyota Hilux driver Yazeed Al-Rajhi. Although he was registered to earn points, he did not appear at the second round in Abu Dhabi.

Marcos Baumgart and Gareth Woolridge will debut Neil Woolridge Motorsport’s new NWM Evo Plus car at next week’s South African Safari Rally. It is the successor to the Ford Ranger T1+ that the team had been fielding since 2023. The Ranger was originally developed in partnership with Ford Performance and M-Sport, competing at the 2024 Dakar Rally with Woolridge and Nani Roma, before M-Sport and Ford split off to build the Ford Raptor.

The Pearson brothers had a good time in Lincoln County on Saturday as Axel Pearson won the Silver State 300 as the fastest competitor overall. His brothers Otto and Tuffy followed in second, while Malcolm Pearson finished eighth. Axel and his #N26 Husqvarna led the way with a time of 5:22:04, fastest of the 50 cars and bikes that reached the finish. Otto and Tuffy’s #N33 KTM settled for second, two minutes and 16 seconds back. Malcolm was eighth overall and won the 399 Pro class.

After doing the last two Dakar Rallies, Gad Nachmani will attempt the Africa Eco Race in 2026 instead. Nachmani entered the Dakar Rally for the first time in 2024, three years after he began competing in international rally raids. A difficult Chrono Stage prevented him from completing the full race as he finished 76th in Rally2. The 2025 Dakar went far smoother. Nachmani placed 56th in class with a best run of 57th in Stage 9.

The Ducati Desmo450 MX, the Italian manufacturer’s first time building a motocross bike, is now available for early reservation on Prelaunch.com. While Ducati is best known for its pavement motorcycles, it has an off-road division that’s developed bikes like the DesertX. The Desmo450, meanwhile, was designed for motocross and is currently used in the Italian Motocross Pro Prestige MX1 Championship.
