The first domino of what is shaping up to be a very busy offseason for the Celtics has fallen. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Utah Jazz are hiring Celtics assistant general manager Austin Ainge as their next President of Basketball Operations. Ainge spent the last six seasons as Boston's assistant GM and has been with the front office since 2011. Before that, he served as the head coach of the G League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws, for two seasons.

For the fourth consecutive season, Jayson Tatum has been named to the All-NBA First Team. He joins Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Thunder), Nikola Jokic (Nuggets), Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks), and Donovan Mitchell (Cavaliers) on this year's First Team. Tatum was one of four unanimous selections, as he, Gilgeous-Alexander, Jokic and Antetokounmpo got First Team votes on all 100 ballots.

One week ago, Brad Stevens was in New York, sitting on the Celtics' bench alongside assistant general manager Austin Ainge, watching Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown go through their pregame warmups. They probably felt like they were in a good spot. After falling behind 0-2, the Celtics responded with a 22-point win in Game 3 and had a chance to even the series, potentially stealing back home-court advantage. They had no idea what kind of disaster was coming. Flash forward one week.

Before a game last week against the Knicks, Al Horford's father, Tito, was sitting on the Celtics' bench at Madison Square Garden. "Tito," a Celtics fan standing in the crowd along the baseline yelled. "Tell Al not to retire!"Tito turned around with a smile, acknowledging the fan's plea. Retirement hasn't really been a thought, at least not publicly.

NEW YORK - Joe Mazzulla and Al Horford congratulated and spoke briefly with some players and coaches of the Knicks before exiting the floor at Madison Square Garden under flashing blue and orange strobe lights. "Knicks in 6, baby!" a Knicks fan yelled down at Horford as he entered the tunnel. "Adios, Joe! Adios," yelled another towards Mazzulla. It was a scene nobody would've imagined even a few weeks ago.
