Ultimately, however, Millbrook (8-2, 2-1 Class 4 Northwestern District) stayed composed when it mattered and swept Sherando 3-0 with the final scores of 27-25, 25-23, 25-23. Propelled by back-to-back aces from Amanda Ingrassia, Sherando jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead to begin the first set.

SENECA — Although tensions ran high for a short stretch at the Seneca High School boys’ soccer team’s game on Monday night, the Bobcats ultimately scored four second-half goals on the way to a 5-2 win over Blue Ridge to open postseason play. Entering halftime tied 1-1, the Bobcats came out of the break firing away, scoring two goals within two minutes at the 54- and 56-minute marks.

CLEMSON — The Clemson baseball team kicked off its full-squad spring training ahead of the upcoming season at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Friday afternoon, and expectations among the coaches and players are high. After winning the ACC championship and hosting an NCAA Tournament regional last season, the Tigers enter this year with a retooled roster made up of 20 newcomers, 13 of whom are freshmen and seven of whom are transfers.

Despite center PJ Hall having a career night, the Clemson men’s basketball team ultimately collapsed against Georgia Tech in Littlejohn Coliseum on Tuesday night, falling to the Yellow Jackets 93-90 in double overtime. Leading by nine points with 1:43 left in the second half, the Tigers broke down in the final stretch and allowed the Yellow Jackets to storm back. CLEMSON — The Clemson athletic department unveiled its new women’s sports complex and recovery center on Friday, just 399 days after breaking ground on the project. With a crowd of around 300 people in attendance, Clemson president Jim Clements, athletic director Graham Neff, women’s lacrosse coach Allison Kwolek, gymnastics coach Amy Smith and several student-athletes led a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the facilities.
