One week after suspended Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez was booked into the Lake County Jail, WESH 2 Investigates learned that a multi-agency raid in 2024 shut down the casino at the center of the state’s racketeering case. In the three years before the arrest of Lopez on racketeering and conspiracy to commit racketeering charges, records from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office show deputies responded to the Eclipse Social Club on Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee nearly 50 times.

The third co-defendant to be arrested in connection to an alleged illegal gambling enterprise in Central Florida involving suspended Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez posted his $100,000 bond late Wednesday afternoon. Sheldon Wetherholt, 58, turned himself in at the Lake County Jail late Tuesday night. As he walked out of the jail after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, he repeatedly said he had “no comment” before stopping to answer questions from reporters. “I don’t have any involvement,” Wetherholt said.
