This led to a wild scrum and ejections of both Cunningham and Sheldon, as well as the Sun’s Lindsay Allen. It came after Sheldon had poked Fever star Caitlin Clark in the eye earlier in the game right before her teammate Marina Mabrey knocked Clark to the floor.

The PGA Tour is undergoing a power shift at the top. GOLF.com reported on Monday that the tour plans to “sunset” commissioner Jay Monahan at some point before the end of next year with incoming CEO Brian Rolapp taking over his power after a transition period. Monahan has faced criticism for his handling of LIV Golf, with the rebel league taking some of the biggest names in the sport away from the PGA Tour.

Giancarlo Stanton is back. The slugger will make his season debut for the Yankees on Monday night against the Angels after missing the first 70 games of the season with elbow issues. Stanton belted 27 home runs last season in 114 games and then added seven more in the postseason as he powered the Yankees to the World Series, where they lost to the Dodgers in five games. The injury issue came up just as spring training began, though the elbow pain had been an issue in the past.

Sam Burns saw his U.S. Open hopes drown with one controversial decision. Burns was forced to hit out of a soggy lie on the fairway of the 15th hole of Sunday’s final round at Oakmont after asking two rules officials to take a drop. Both decided that Burns was not entitled to one, and he proceeded to pull his second shot into the greenside rough and make a double bogey to all but finish his chances of winning his first major.
