The Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) is back for his second series but after the way series one ended, it seems he is need of a new companion. While Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) was a wonderful companion, it seems the Doctor and his adventures are going to be finding someone more suitable for his outings and adventures and not focused on finding out their origin story so to speak.

When you’re watching an A24 movie, especially one that is fantastical in its elements, there is no way to prepare, the audience is in for a ride and mileage may vary. This is not to say that their catalogue is bad, because by no means is that accurate, but some of their projects get *weird* and while Alex Scharfman’s Death of a Unicorn is certifiably bananas it is also a deeply satirical look at the medical industry that is truly as scathing as it is hilarious.

The year is 2010….wait no it’s not its 2025 yet for some inexplainable reason (even though this was supposed to come out in 2023ish) we’re getting a direct sequel to The Incredible Hulk while the titular character (Hulk) has been recast, isn’t in the movie at all, and William Hurt has been recast due to his unfortunate passing. So why is Captain America: Brave New World a sequel to a 17 year old movie that started the entire MCU (Iron Man be damned).

If I had to guess what my first introduction to Spider-Man was I would safely assume the 1994 animated series, and then the Sam Raimi’s, the Garfields, and the Hollands followed by the new Disney+/Marvel Animation Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man series. When I was reading comics regularly Dan Slott’s Spectacular Spider-Man was one of the few Marvel titles I followed with issues and not just trades and collections.

As someone who during the pandemic found solace in watching videos of gameplay fails and people play walkthroughs of games I didn’t have myself/couldn’t afford to have there was something inherently interesting about creating an adaptation of Shakespeare within the world of Grand Theft Auto – presenting Grand Theft Hamlet.

It’s rare for a movie to catch me completely and utterly off guard, but Sheffen Haars newest that is penned by Nick Frost completely caught me off guard and I account for some of that knowing absolutely nothing about the movie other than a brief synopsis and the fact that it starred Nick Frost. So with that being said, I will also refrain as much as possible from delving too much into the plot of the movie and suggest avoiding the trailer and just watch the chaos unfold on Shudder.

It was the Venice Film Festival when people said things along the lines of “holy [expletive] I cannot believe the Robbie Williams movie” and things like “I cannot believe Better Man did that” and no one knew what they were referring to as the poster didn’t drop, the trailer didn’t drop, just based on the information present the movie was about British pop star Robbie Williams. It leaked that the movie about Robbie Williams features Robbie Williams as a monkey.

Liam Neeson has recently stated that he may be slowly retiring and stepping away from being the action bad-ass he’s dawned the mantle for since Taken, and with his latest – Absolution, it may be for the best. This is not to say that it is a bad movie, but with his age it is roughly the right time to stop kicking ass and taking names and focus on doing some more suitable fitting roles for his new stage of life – something Absolution actually handles incredibly well.
