Photo: Douglas Sacha/Getty A father of four was fatally shot and his girlfriend was “badly beaten” after he asked a man to stop blocking his driveway with his car so he could park in his space, say authorities. Officers found a man identified as Trevor Hughes, 49 on the ground with a gunshot wound to his abdomen after responding to a 911 call on Fowler Avenue in the Bronx at about 2 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8. Hughes was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Harold Thompson. Photo: Dallas County jail A Texas man convicted of killing his girlfriend because she had an abortion has been sentenced to life in prison. Monday's sentencing in Dallas County Criminal Court came shortly after a jury found Harold L. Thompson, 23, guilty of murdering 26-year-old Gabriella Gonzalez, court records show. Gonzalez, a mother of three, was fatally gunned down in a gas station parking lot in May 2023, police said at the time.

As PEOPLE previously reported, on Saturday, Jan. 4, Heather Williams, 25, of Fayetteville, was seen on her family’s Ring camera leaving her home and getting into a car, the Fayetteville Police Department said in a statement.

On Monday, Jan. 13, Giovanni Impellizzeri, 27, of Vineland, pleaded guilty to second-degree official misconduct, according to a statement from Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae.
