    The greenback is closing in on the European common currency. It recently hit a high of 1.0179 dollars to one euro, but has since eased back, so is 4 cents from parity. The majority of market participants are expecting this to be achieved soon. Some even assume that this will not be the end of the US currency's appreciation, but that it will go below parity; in other words, less than one dollar will have to be spent to get one euro on the currency markets.

    Mr Anev Janse, what is the financing volume for the EFSF and ESM this year, and how does it compare to 2024? For 2025, we are planning a total refinancing of 28.5 billion euros, of which 21.5 billion euros is for the European Financial Stability Facility, and 7 billion euros for the European Stability Mechanism. This volume is slightly higher than last year's 26 billion euros due to the higher refinancing requirements.

Mr Bottermann: The global outlook is supported by continued structurally solid development in Asia and robust US expansion. This year, the main impetus will come from lower central bank targets; barring a comprehensive trade war, the aggregate direction of the global economy will remain upwards.
