The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit reversed a lower court ruling that blocked Tennessee’s policy requiring certain felons to provide additional documentation when registering to vote. On Thursday, the Court of Appeals ruled in Tennessee Conference of the NAACP v. Lee that the plaintiffs in the case, the Tennessee NAACP, lacked Article III standing to bring the suit.

Tennessee U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) introduced a bill supported by the White House on Thursday which seeks to expedite deportations of illegal aliens from the United States. The two-page bill, called the Rapid Expulsion of Migrant Offenders who Violate and Evade (REMOVE) Act, would require the U.S. Attorney General to start removal proceedings as quickly as possible after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) files a Notice to Appear (NTA) with the immigration court.
