When Patsy and Danny Roberts pulled up to a Kansas gas station, they had no intentions of going inside the convenience store. But then the couple from Lyndon discovered the card reader at the pump was broken, according to a Nov. 15 news release from the Kansas Lottery. Danny Roberts went inside to pay for gas, and he spotted the $10 Kansas City Chiefs World Champions instant tickets, officials said. "And he just couldn't resist those Chiefs tickets!" his wife, Patsy, told lottery officials.

The two-person club decided on a "special code word" they'd use if they ever won a prize, according to a Nov. 16 news release. An area business manager for a Missouri crop science company used his work credit card for more than $100,000 in personal purchases, according to federal authorities. From about May 2014 to March 2022, authorities said Matthew Olinger used the company credit card for family meals, vacations, clothes, boating and other entertainment.
