JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It’s one of Jacksonville’s highest-profile murders. Joshua Phillips, Maddie Clifton’s killer, is preparing to ask a judge to review his life sentence, court records show. According to court records, as of Monday, Phillips was being held in the Duval County jail after being transported from Suwannee County Correctional. On Nov. 3, 1998, Phillips murdered his 8-year-old neighbor Maddie Clifton.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, the DEA and U.S. Attorney’s Office for New Mexico held a news conference Tuesday to discuss a historic drug operation. Bondi announced the U.S. made its largest fentanyl bust in the nation’s history, with 11.5 kilograms of fentanyl including 3 million fentanyl pills taken off the streets. She says the pills were stamped as Oxycodone.
