Hi! How’s your week going? We’re excited about this fun issue :)When I think of Somsack Sikhounmuong, the creative director of Alex Mill, the first word that comes to mind is “lovable.” He grew up in a tiny Canadian town and now lives in New York City. He is warm and hilarious, he delights in small pleasures (think: ravioli and luggage stickers), and joie de vivre just pours out of him.

Last week, I went to Paris with female friends, and the city felt magical in the springtime. While sitting in cafés and walking around town, I kept an eye out for street style. First up, as seen on the dad above, was the ubiquitous French net market bag — so simple and handy, right? Here are seven more observations…White button-up shirts tucked all the way in, all the way around. No half tucks!

Hi! How is your week? My mom is visiting this weekend, which is always a treat. For today’s issue, we talked to , a health educator and writer. Erica now writes the newsletter Soft Boundaries, which she describes as “a gentle space to help you explore the boundaries of your inner world.”She lives in Los Angeles with her fiancée and feels excited to be approaching 40. “I was a late bloomer and came out at 33.

Hello! Our third Big Salad & Friends live stream airs tomorrow (Tuesday) at 12 p.m. ET with NYTimes-bestselling poet Kate Baer. We’ll be chatting about poetry (and how funny and real it can be), female friendship, vibrators, parenting (she has four kids), and how to switch into a creative mode, or as she says, “get your head in the clouds.” Will be a fun and laid-back conversation; and we’ll be answering reader questions, too, which is my favorite part.

Hey there, how is your week going? This is a very hard time in the U.S., as well as many places around the world, and I want to send everyone a big virtual hug. I hope you’re hanging in there and able to take care of yourself and the people around you. Stay tuned for an upcoming Big Salad volunteer group that we hope you’ll join. For now, I’d love to share eight things I noticed around Brooklyn, including small joys, little mottos, and ways to connect with loved ones and strangers.
