    NORWALK — With the opening of its first Connecticut location around the corner, Wegmans is hosting a hiring event Wednesday to fill over 200 jobs. The company announced last month the Norwalk store would open in the second quarter of 2025, though Wegmans Senior Public Relations Coordinator Marcie Rivera said an April opening would not happen, putting the window between May and June.

    NORWALK — South Norwalk Electric and Water is looking to increase water rates “across the board” by 9% each of the next three years after instituting a 10% increase in July 2024. SNEW’s November draft report explaining the proposed rate increase says the water distribution system in South Norwalk has “significant infrastructure needs” after “decades of deferred capital investment” and says the utility company’s operating costs have increased substantially in recent years.
