Prayagraj: As many as 66 cases of cyber fraud were registered with the cyber crime police station of Prayagraj police commissionerate in 2024. This year, in the first four months (Jan 1 to April 30), a total of 12 have already been registered in the district. In terms of monetary losses, cyber criminals siphoned off more than Rs 17.6 crore in 66 cases of 2024, from which the cyber police could recover over Rs 3 crore, including Rs 1.83 crore in freezing and Rs 1.18 crore recovered.
