A Garden City brewery is opening up a second tap room. And get ready to walk the plank – this one has a pirate theme. Brown Beard Brewing is opening Brown Beard’s Barrel House at 5270 W Chinden Blvd in the old IdaWild location. Owner and brewer Bryce Tuttle said shortly after opening, he realized Brown Beard would need an upgrade. “We opened a small brewery, the smallest one in the Valley, in March 2023. And quickly, our first weekend, we sold out of everything that we made,” Tuttle said.

A restaurant with a focus on charcoaled meats has re-opened in Meridian. The Imperium Grill opened its doors in May to provide a new, healthy option in the Treasure Valley. After a few weeks, Owner John Spahic had to close the restaurant due to HVAC issues. Repairs are now complete, and Imperium Grill is back up and running. Spahic was born in the Balkan region of southern Europe, formerly Yugoslavia, and from an early age, enjoyed charcoal meats.

A burger joint will soon be serving up patties in Meridian. Bad Boy Burgers is adding a third location at the former Dickey’s Barbecue Pit on Overland, per permits filed with the City of Meridian. Bad Boy Burgers listed the new restaurant’s address and hours as “Coming Soon” on its website. Bad Boy Burgers’ other two locations are in Boise on Vista Avenue and Federal Way. Owner Rocky Paflias said he’s been looking to expand for a while, but finding the right location was difficult.

A new taco joint from a popular restaurant group is coming to Garden City. Wylder Hospitality Group, the team behind restaurants including The Wylder, Certified Bakery, and Percy, plans to open Rosa, a fast-service taco restaurant at 214 E. 34th Street in Garden City. Rosa will be Wylder Hospitality Group’s sixth restaurant in the Boise area. Owner David Rex said the inspiration for Rosa started with the space.
