    The Davidson County School Board held its first meeting since one of its members abruptly resigned last week. That now former board member, Ashley Carroll, is charged with DWI after getting into a car crash that injured a teenage student in the district. "Early morning of April 10, the Board was made aware of a wreck that occurred on the evening of April 9 in the Silver Valley area involving Ms. Carroll,” Chairperson Nick Jarvis said.

    Forsyth County leaders are considering a new formula to determine when and how local money goes to Winston-Salem/Forsyth County schools. But not everyone's on board. The county manager Shontell Robinson says funding formulas have been used in Forsyth County since 2013, excluding fiscal years 2022 and 2025. What makes this proposal different is that the Board of Commissioners and Board of Education have never formally adopted a formula.
