Every week, when I scan the beautiful new listings, one always stands out. This week, it’s a Cape Cod-inspired New Traditional from New Leaf Custom Homes. What struck me first was the facade, and that’s not always the case. I generally give it three or four photos before I make a decision, but this house, as the saying goes, “Had me at Hello.”It’s the juxtaposition of stone and brick and that front patio that turned my head. It takes a village to keep our built heritage intact, and every year, Preservation Dallas honors that village at its Annual Preservation Achievement Awards Ceremony. This year marks the 26th when a small group of intrepid volunteers and an even smaller staff have worked diligently to ensure those individuals and companies that preserve our heritage are recognized for their hard work. When you consider what goes into preserving historic homes and buildings, it’s frankly a rather heroic feat.

There are some pretty astonishing homes in Dallas. The Nimmo Glass House on Ricks Circle will always be in the top ten.
