    Vickery Place is a historic Dallas neighborhood platted by the Works-Coleman Land Company in 1911. Their vision was to transform farmland into one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Dallas. With streetcar access and proximity to downtown, it became highly sought-after very quickly. I think they’d be quite pleased to see that Vickery Place remains a thriving community over a century later.

    Preservation Dallas has named Greg Johnston as their new board president. Johnston brings a wealth of experience in historic preservation and a strong working knowledge of the organization. He has been a board member and treasurer for Preservation and is a long-term member of the Landmark Commission’s Swiss Avenue Historic District Task Force and, more recently, the South Boulevard Park Row Task Force.

    The Art House condos, designed by architect Lionel Morrison, were cutting-edge when they were completed in 2004. It’s a testament to Morrison’s genius that, 21 years later, this eight-unit building remains ahead of its time. Finding an architecturally significant, completely updated luxury condo in the heart of Dallas is like finding the proverbial needle in the haystack. They don’t come along often. In fact, the last time we saw one available to purchase at Art House was five years ago.
