A new service is now available for people in the event they have an emergency that needs firefighters. Grand Forks Fire/Rescue is now offering Community Connect, a free online service so people can get critical information to emergency personnel as an emergency is happening, stated a post on its Facebook page. People, whether they are private residents or businesses, can log on and create a profile and add any important information that would be helpful in an emergency.

Greenwood’s Volunteer Fire Department is in need of another fire truck and the city has found funding sources. Greenwood is pooling funds from two “pots” of money to help procure a used fire truck for the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Department. CAO Trumbley explained the Chief Financial Officer identified two sources of funds totalling around $400,000 that have to be spent before they expire by the end of this year.

Home Local News Graffiti Day aims to add life to storage sea cans. Alexander Dabels, 12, left his mark on a storage sea can at Boundary Museum and Archives on Saturday with a little spay paint and game inspiration for the museum's Graffiti Day. People were invited to come try out the urban artform for free and decorate the sea cans with supplied spray paint and protective gear, leaving a little piece of their own history.

Discussions over how Greenwood wants to move forward with invasive plant control was a highlight for the City Council, with questions over improving public communication to alleviate fears over spraying. Darrin McBee, Operations Co-ordinator with Boundary Invasive Species Society (BISS) gave a presentation for the May 26 Regular Council meeting, highlighting the work done in the city and surrounding region, as well as suggestions on how to move forward.
