My name is Karina Julius, and I am running for reelection to the Old Saybrook Board of Education. I have been fortunate to serve on the Board for the last five years, and I am the chair of both the Budget and Fiscal and Demographics Committees. My husband and I have lived in Old Saybrook for 22 years, and both of our now college-aged boys were educated in the Old Saybrook school system. Professionally, I am the director of Finance Training & Development at Yale University.

My wife Nancy and I have lived here with our three children for nearly 30 years. This town was here for me and my family when our Old Greenwich home burned down during Hurricane Sandy. I am running because I have a deep sense of gratitude and from a desire to give back. I decided to run for the BET because Greenwich needs first class financial management.
