Senators Mitch McConnell, Rand Paul, and Governor Andy Beshear have repeatedly criticized President Trump's tariff plan, arguing that it would equate to higher prices for all Americans. Beshear said tariffs will significantly impact Kentucky because of its reliance on global trade. Exports in Bourbon alone bring in approximately $500 million annually to the Commonwealth. Beshear called Trump's tariffs one of the worst mistakes he has seen from a President in his lifetime.

Homeowners and renters in Anderson, Butler, Carroll, Christian, Clark, Franklin, Hardin, Hopkins, Jessamine, McCracken, Mercer, Owen, and Woodford counties can apply for federal assistance.
Beshar expands request for federal aid following April flooding

On April 25th, President Donald Trump approved a portion of the Governor's initial request for a Major Disaster Declaration, which included Individual Assistance for Kentuckians in 13 counties 13 counties. KSP investigating officer-involved shooting in Madison County

An investigation is underway after an early morning officer-involved shooting at the Walmart store in Berea. According to the Berea Police Department, officers were called to the store to investigate a stolen vehicle. When they tried to contact the driver, he put the car in reverse, hit an officer, and pinned him between two cars. The officer then fired into the vehicle. The officer and two other people were taken to the hospital.

They were there bright and early to celebrate the life and legacy of Alexandra Simpson, who passed away in 2022 at the young age of 22. Alex’s mother, Melanie Simpson Conley, started the event a year ago to honor her daughter and bring awareness and funding to fight childhood cancers.

The Major Disaster Declaration includes Individual Assistance for Kentuckians in Anderson, Butler, Carroll, Christian, Clark, Franklin, Hardin, Hopkins, Jessamine, McCracken, Mercer, Owen and Woodford counties. Beshear plans to add additional counties to the declaration through an amendment once ongoing assessments are completed.
