By fall 1997, developer Planet4 realized that their game was threatened to go unnoticed in a score of similar RTS titles that were flooding the market at that time. Despite the project's advanced status, it was re-designed from scratch with a 3D engine. As a cruel irony of fate, Thandor did go quite unnoticed nevertheless.
