Since the General availability of Fluid Framework 2 earlier this year, the Fluid team at Microsoft has been hard at work on a broad set of improvements to the platform. With the AI Collab library, we’ve made it easier for developers to use Gen AI APIs to operate on their SharedTree-based data.

June 26th, 2024 We are excited to announce that Fluid Framework 2 is now generally available and ready for production applications! It is the result of the insights we gained from enabling real-time collaboration in Microsoft and partner applications. Since we first introduced Fluid Framework, it has been used extensively both within Microsoft and by external customers to build real-time collaborative experiences.

Fluid Framework is an open-source platform for building distributed, collaborative web apps that sync data in real time. It is the platform that powers Microsoft Loop, Microsoft Whiteboard, Edge Workspaces and various experiences built by our partners.
