In an unexpected late-night ruling on Tuesday, the House Natural Resources Committee voted to allow the federal government to sell off thousands of acres of land in Nevada and Utah. Now, DOGE wants to re-open a protected area (twice the size of Texas) in the Pacific Ocean for commercial fishing, placing endangered species, fish populations and habitats at risk. The tail end of National Parks Week in the US around the end of April is usually a time for celebrating and appreciating over 400 parks and monuments in the National Park Service.
