Khadses, a family of four, needed a calm and subtle space with a neutral colour palate. With two kids under 15, they also needed tons of storage while not letting the house feel boxy. With that simple brief in mind, the team at One Habitat Studio decided to overcome the space issue of a Pune house by using muted colours. Shah says, “We choose to use blue predominantly in the whole space. The blue calms the eyes while keeping the freshness alive. The beige tones add up the feeling of earthiness.

There’s ice, there’s the colour red, and a whole lot of both coming together in a ginormous 9X9 feet monolith at IF.BE in Mumbai’s Colaba, where it melts in the span of three days. Artists Neil Ghose-Balser and Doyel Joshi’s Mumbai-based interdisciplinary practice Howareyoufeeling.studio employs the canvas of an old ice factory—that once offered up the dream of frozen water to the sweltering city of Mumbai—to build a site-specific installation titled Provenance.
