In the latest Kate Garraway news, she has spoken out about her previous ‘addiction’ to vaping, admitting she “hated” herself for it. The TV star opened up about her vaping addiction during GMB on Thursday (October 24). Talking to Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley, Kate said she initially swapped cigarettes for e-cigarettes in 2009 following the birth of her son Billy. But soon enough, Kate was back on the vapes.

Kate Garraway has opened up about facing her first Christmas this year without her husband Derek Draper. Derek died in January at the age of 56. He had battled Covid-19 and its after-effects since 2020. This year has marked many ‘firsts’ with Kate and her two children, and Christmas is just a few months away. Speaking to Woman and Home, Kate said the first Christmas without Derek will be “difficult”. She has opened up about the advice she’s given to her daughter Darcey, 18, and son Billy, 15.

SIR ELTON JOHN had got in touch when Derek was first sick to try to help. At the time he, too, had a close friend in intensive care with Covid. He was very moved when I said that I was playing his music to Derek. As Derek got stronger and came home, Elton said he would love to have the chance to meet Derek and invited him to one of his concerts. But every time a date in London was scheduled, Derek had a setback. Then, in January 2023, we decided as a family to finally make it happen.
