Crypto firm Solayer is releasing a debit card for crypto users, the company shared exclusively with Blockworks. The card, called the Emerald Card, will use the Solayer Infini Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) L1 chain. The Emerald Card will be available in over 100 countries, including the US, and it has an Apple Pay and Android Pay integration, according to a press release. A rewards program tied to the card is expected to launch soon, allowing cardholders to earn crypto, airdrops and access staking.

Digg was an early 2000s news aggregator, predating Reddit, that was dismantled and sold for parts in 2012. The original site was founded by Kevin Rose, a man you might know better as the creator of the Moonbirds NFT collection. Yuga Labs purchased Rose's NFT company, Proof Collective, and the Moonbird NFT brand for an undisclosed sum in 2024. Now, more than ten years after Digg's shuttering, both Rose and Reddit co-founder Alex Ohanian are back to reboot the news aggregator.

Truth Arts - formerly known as Truth Labs, the team behind the 2022 Goblintown Ethereum NFT collection - has released NFT "licenses" inspired by driver's licenses. To become eligible to mint a Goblintown license, aspiring drivers had to wait for a seemingly endless amount of time with no end in sight in a DMV. In this case, the wait was at the Goblintown DMV, which was a webpage with a DMV simulator.

This is a segment from The Drop newsletter. To read full editions, . US-based startup Axal is combining crypto trading with AI agents. They're starting with automated trades through their Autopilot tool, which lets users set a risk tolerance level and other restrictions to automate trading with crypto and stablecoins. The team told me in an interview that the tool currently uses Ethereum L2 chains Base, Optimism and Arbitrum on the backend, with plans to add Solana in the coming weeks.

NFT marketplace Magic Eden is acquiring trading app Slingshot. As of Tuesday, the deal has been signed and is expected to close soon, a spokesperson for Magic Eden confirmed to Blockworks. Jack Lu, Magic Eden's CEO and cofounder, also spoke to us about the deal. "Why Slingshot, right? The way we would think about it is, if you look at the market today, there was a time everyone was launching L2s," Lu told Blockworks. "But it was pretty obvious that the market was pretty over it.
