    Over the weekend, something called Hetero Awesome Fest was held in downtown Boise, which to clarify was not a rejected Saturday Night Live sketch — it was a real festival, with merch, vendors and more porta-potties than actual people in attendance. I’d be remiss not to point out how absurd it all was. A few dozen showed up to a gathering whose entire premise was to prove who you’re not. Which isn’t a celebration, it’s a reaction and definitely not awesome.

North Italia, a modern Italian restaurant concept, officially opened May 28 at The Village at Meridian, marking the brand’s first location in Idaho and its 46th nationwide. Originally opened in 2002 in Arizona by Sam Fox, North Italia has grown into a national favorite for its modern dishes, pasta made from scratch and craft cocktails.

But for owners Alicia and Jason Miller, this is not a goodbye but rather a pause. “It's going to give us some time to rebrand and do some research. There is a huge shift in the CBD world, and we want to get a feel of what the community is needing now,” Alicia Miller said.

    Albertsons Stadium reached full capacity on Tuesday, June 24 as 37,000 fans packed the stands for the Post Malone’s Big Ass Stadium Tour stop. The sold-out performance, featuring opening sets from Wyatt Flores and Jelly Roll, will go down as one of the largest single-day events in Boise’s history. With even more attendees than a typical Boise State football game, the hallways were tight and drink lines were long but none of that seemed to matter.

    They used to be impossible to miss with their flashing lights, bumping music and groups of riders pedaling through downtown Boise. But lately, bike bars have been noticeably quieter, fewer and almost absent altogether from the city’s downtown scene. Since first appearing in 2010, bike bars have become a popular and entertaining way to see in and around downtown — offering group rides between bars with music and drinks onboard.
