The Iowa women's tennis team saw its season end Friday at the hands of Georgia Tech in the first round of the NCAA tournament, falling to the No. 29 Yellow Jackets, 4-1, in Athens, Georgia. This was the Hawkeyes' first NCAA tournament appearance since 2010 and their eighth in program history. The Hawkeyes entered the tournament by earning an at-large berth. Iowa captured the first win at No. 3 doubles with third-year Pia Kranholdt and fourth-year Barbora Pokorna dominating the Yellow Jackets, 6-1.

The University of Iowa's International Writing Program recently received a $250,000 donation to help sustain the program, a little over two months after seeing a substantial funding cut from the federal government. The donation comes from investor and lawyer Hugh F. Culverhouse Jr, according to a press release from the program. Culverhouse is encouraging other supporters of the program to also make a monetary donation.

A voter demographic that has predominantly voted Democrat for decades showed unprecedented support for the Republican Party and President Donald Trump. One of the driving forces behind this shift: young men. Youth voter turnout increased this past general election cycle, with 18-29 year-olds making up 16 percent of voters in 2024 compared to 13 percent in 2020.

For the past month, Christopher Merrill's inbox has been flooded with messages from alumni, friends, colleagues, and writers, all voicing their support for the University of Iowa's International Writing Program after its funding abruptly decreased. Merrill, who has been the program director for the past 25 years, had received over 2,000 emails alone by March 13 - a week after announcing the program was facing a nearly $1 million funding cut from the federal government.
