Photo by Orlando Ramirez/Getty Images The Mariners announced prior to Wednesday’s game that they are placing RHP Collin Snider on the 15-day IL with a right forearm flexor strain. Snider, while pitching some solid innings for the Mariners, hasn’t been able to recapture his form from last season. At his best, Snider is a contact-manager who doesn’t allow hard contact.

Crawford (ruled a hit, but J.P. would be the first to tell you he should have had it).

Injuries have played a large role in the Orioles’ poor fortunes this year, and they’ll roll into Seattle without longtime Mariners-torturer Cedric Mullins or former Mariner prospect Tyler O’Neill.

“Development in all sports, baseball in this case, is about who can keep getting better the longest who can keep that growth curve going...he’s continuing to get better. And I don’t think he’s done.” - Brian Murphy, former head coach at William and MaryAfter a torrid start to his career as a Mariner, Ben Williamson cooled off sharply when the calendar flipped to May. Over the first half of the month (May 1st - 17th), Williamson was hitting below the Mendoza Line, with a wRC+ of just 28.
