Norths Collective's chief marketing and innovation officer Robert Lopez is stepping away from the role after over 13 years. Lopez announced his planned departure from the hospitality group on LinkedIn, adding he will finish in early August, with no confirmed plans for a new role. The decision to step down was partly driven by Norths Collective CEO Luke Simmons' decision to also depart following a decade at the helm. Tony Mathew is set to take over as CEO this August.

ANZ Banking Group digital leader Maile Carnegie will step down next month to focus on non-executive roles. Carnegie was most recently the major bank’s group executive for Australia retail where she oversaw digital innovation work. The former Google ANZ managing director stepped into the group executive for Australia retail roughly three years ago during an ANZ reshuffle, which saw the bank re-merge its digital and retail divisions into one unit.

Transurban is exploring how to build on a year-old generative AI customer service chatbot, giving it contextual information about customers, with a longer-term goal to have the chatbot proactively engage with customers directly. The toll road operator introduced a generative AI chatbot, built on Anthropic's Claude large language model, in August last year on is Linkt app and website. Linkt is where customers sign up for a toll road tag and manage their payments.

South32 is hoping that AI can enhance predictions on safety, performance and cultural aspects of its employee experience. The Western Australian-based mining and metals company has staff spread across the globe including Perth, Singapore, London and Vancouver, and in more remote locations. In 2021, the company overhauled its employee engagement and measurement platforms.

The Queensland government has named Adam Smith as its interim chief information security officer after the retirement of Rob Champion from the role. Champion had served as state government CISO for seven years, with Smith as deputy CISO. A Queensland department of customer services, open data and small and family business spokesperson confirmed the interim appointment to iTnews.
