The Zootown Arts and Community Center has removed a local band from the organization’s spring festival lineup after a community petition protested what it described as the band’s racist actions against Indigenous people. At issue is Native cultural appropriation by a white musician who performed under the moniker “War Pony” for 12 years. Cara Schulz grew up in Cody, Wyoming, and later moved to Hamilton, Montana, where she says War Pony started as a high school nickname.

But since the new Beartracks Bridge (formerly Higgins Bridge) opened in late 2022 with shared-use paths for foot and bike traffic, the layout has caused confusion.

Flights to mainland Europe can be pricey, but Missoulians can try a little taste of French cafe culture by making a short trip to the new Dandelion Delicatessen in the not-so-remote neighborhood of Franklin to the Fort. The cafe, which celebrates a grand opening on Bastille Day, Sunday, July 14, offers eclectic “grandma-core” vibes, as owner-chef Tara Emery puts it. “I wanted to create a cool neighborhood spot,” she says.
