    The night of the Eaton Fire on Jan. 7, Altadena resident Kate Sullivan thought she would be returning home the next day after evacuating. “The friends we had staying with us from Ohio had friends in Woodland Hills, so we followed them in our cars with three cats in carriers,” Sullivan said. The last memory Sullivan has from that night was hearing her neighbor’s Soleri wind bells.

    As the San Gabriel Valley continues to the heal from the devastation of the Eaton Fire, firefighters work to contain the area. According to the latest numbers from the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the Eaton Fire has damaged or destroyed more than 7,000 structures. Pasadena and Altadena residents who lost their homes or are temporarily seeking shelter elsewhere recall evacuating and the steps they are taking to move forward.
