    The stakes were low for Apple’s WWDC 25— Apple did exceed them. In 2024, the company promised advanced AI features for Siri and other applications. When those improvements never materialized and Apple admitted the need to delay some changes, the tech press started writing obits for Apple. As it turned out, what Apple did have to show off in time for WWDC 25 was a flashy new interface and no lack of Apple Intelligence throughout the product portfolio.

    In February, Adobe introduced a Photoshop version built for mobile. Now, at the end of May, Adobe has introduced a version for Android. Is this woo-hoo!! or what? It’s a pledge by Adobe to put a more powerful Photoshop in the hands of millions. Adobe has already introduced Photoshop Express for Android, along with mobile versions of Lightroom, Acrobat, and the very first iteration of Adobe Express, which was then called Spark. They did that in 2015, a huge year for Adobe’s mobile ambitions.

The company has come out of semi-stealth mode with  $36.5 million series A round of funding.IXI, the newly emerged Finnish company developing autofocus eyewear, hasn’t exactly been flying under the radar before now. They’ve been skimming the surface of the tech world’s consciousness since their founding by Ville Miettinen and Niko Eiden in 2021 (as Pixieray).

    There was a time when RED and Nikon were more foes than friends, facing off in court over patent infringements. But that is water under the bridge, as the fairly new kid (albeit an aggressive one) on the pro digital cinema block and the longtime still camera maker have set aside their differences. After all, that is what business partners do, now that the two are family. RED is now a subsidiary of Nikon following their recent acquisition.
