Well, I took time off from writing (and from following major news for that matter) . A detox of sorts. Mine was somewhat required due to life circumstances from a very large move across the country. An imperative that simply didn’t allow time to focus on much of anything else. I need help. I am having such a hard time. I have so many unanswered questions. When I can’t wrap my mind around something, it drives me crazy. I feel like I have failed. I have failed to reach you, and I have failed to understand you. I get some of it. I get the frustration, the perceived unfairness, the struggling. That I understand. They claim empathy is a bug present in Western Civilization that is inherently suicidal. It’s a sick and twisted path, to come to these conclusions– that somehow having empathy will lead to a collapse of civilization. It’s a heady blend of racism, eugenics and internal woe that brings one to such ideas.
